Etymology
From -ան (-an) + -ոց (-ocʿ). The -ան (-an) has different origins: it is a part of the stem in ամարանոց (amaranocʿ), ձմերանոց (jmeranocʿ), կողմանոց (kołmanocʿ), possibly the pluralization suffix -ան (-an) in Iranian borrowings such as աշակերտանոց (ašakertanocʿ), աւազականոց (awazakanocʿ), երիտասարդանոց (eritasardanocʿ).
