From Iranian *-ak, *-āk. Compare Middle Persian -k' (-ag), Persian ـه (-e). The suffix in its agent-noun-forming function is found in the following wholly borrowed terms: դերձակ (derjak), վարձակ (varjak), պատմուճակ (patmučak), նուիրակ (nuirak) and perhaps աւազակ (awazak).
