     Ինձ թվում էր, որ ալիքների մեղմ մեղեդիի մեջ ես լսում էի արձագանքը մի քաղցր նվագածության, որով Ռշտունյաց գուսանները զվարճացնում էին Վասպուրականի հզոր իշխանի ուրախության ժամերը։

     It seemed in the gentle melody of the waves I hear the echo of the sweet tune by which the gusans of Ṙštunikʿ entertained the mighty prince of Vaspurakan in his happy hours.

     Առջևից գնացող հայ հոգևորականությունը երգում էր շարականներ, իսկ նրան հետևող գուսանների խումբը՝ աշխարհային անպարկեշտ երգեր։

     The Armenian clergy proceeding in the front was singing sharakans, whereas the group of gusans following them was singing rowdy secular songs.

     Համերգում ներկայացվելու են գուսան Հավասու, Ջիվանու, Շերամի եւ ժամանակակից երգահաններ Վաչե Ավոյանի, Նորայր Ժամհարյանի ու այլոց գործերը։

     The works of ashughs Havasi, Jivani, Sheram and of contemporary composers Vache Avoyan, Norayr Zhamharyan and others will be presented at the concert.

Usage notes

Starting from 1970s the Armenian աշուղ ‎(ašuł) were consciously renamed գուսան ‎(gusan), a revived Old Armenian word, because the former name had acquired pejorative connotations.
