llo m (plural lloi or lloeau)
From misdivision (llo-eau) of plural lloeau, from Middle Welsh lloe, from Proto-Celtic *laygos (compare Cornish leugh, Breton leue, Old Irish lóeg), from Proto-Indo-European *h₁leyg- (“to jump”) (compare English lark (“to frolic”), Lithuanian láigyti (“to run around wildly”)). Alternatively from Proto-Celtic *lāɸigos, from Proto-Indo-European *leh₂p- (“cattle”) (compare Albanian lopë).
