1. (slang) A look askance at someone; a look of disdain or skepticism.

   He was giving me the hairy eyeball.

2. (slang) A fond look at someone while batting one's eyelashes.

   She was telling me about a boy looking at her and she said, "He gave me the hairy eyeball." That meant he liked her.
