afiksoido ‎(accusative singular afiksoidon, plural afiksoidoj, accusative plural afiksoidojn)

1. (grammar) a morpheme which resembles or is treated as an affix, but behaves as a root, in that its position within a word is predictable from Esperanto word-compounding rules (compare afikso)

   Among the official roots, the antaŭafiksoidoj are dis-, ek-, for-, mis-, re-, retro-; a few which derive from nouns (ĉef-, vir-), and prefixed prepositions

   Among the official roots, the postafiksoidoj are -ado, -aĵo, -eco, -ulo, -eg-, -et-, -um-, -ano, -aro, -ejo, -ero, -estro, -ido, -ilo, -ino, -ingo, -ismo, -isto, -ono, -ujo, -ebla, -ema, -enda, -inda, -obla, -ope, -igi, -iĝi, and the participial suffixes
