Interjection

إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّهُ • ‎(ʾin šāʾa llāh[u])

1. God willing; inshallah, if it is God’s will (literally, “if God has willed [it]”)
2. it is to be hoped; I hope; we hope so
3. probably; it is planned; I intend

Usage notes

• Unlike many other languages, including some of the Islamic world, spoken Arabic uses this phrase extremely frequently and often in passing without conscious thought of God.
