1. (colloquial) Alternative form of ծնգացնել ‎(cngacʿnel)
2. (colloquial, transitive) to call a mobile phone and let it ring once so that the person called gets information about the caller
   1. so that the person called will call back, saving the caller money

        J̌łaynanalu 2 patčaṙ ēl ka, or mi kʿani hat heṙaxos unen, baycʿ meǰə pʿoł čʿunen, mek ēl, cngcʿnum en. Hayastanum šaaaaaaaat taracvac erewuytʿ.

        There are 2 more reasons for being angry: when people keep several phones with no money in them, as well as the practice of cngcʿnel. It is a veeeeeery common phenomenon in Armenia.

        Uremn mer mot šat taraacvac ēr Ṙusastan cngcʿnelə, ankap hamari cngcʿnum ēin, heto het zangołin, etʿe tła ēr ǰardac ṙuserenov kʿfṙtum ēin, etʿe ałǰik ēi, ǰardac ṙuserenov kpcʿnum.

        So it was very common among us to cngcʿnel [phone numbers] in Russia; they were calling once and hanging up on random numbers and when receiving a call back [they were] cursing in broken Russian if it was a boy and hitting on in broken Russian if it was a girl.

   2. so that the person called could easily save the caller's number to his phone's memory, without having to enter it manually

        Erb arden teł ēinkʿ hasnum, xndrecʿ mi hat iran cngcʿnem, or im hamarn ēl ira mot grancʿvi. Haskacʿav, or ir hamarə čʿunem, u tʿeladrecʿ.

        When we were almost there, he asked me to cngcʿnel him, so that my number will be recorded in his phone. [Then] he realized I do not have his number and dictated [it].
