čoms m (1st declension)

1. (colloquial) a male friend, a buddy, a pal

   tiklīdz kuģis ostā, otrā dienā jau visi “čomiņi” lapās‎ ― as soon as the ship has entered the port (you can expect that) on the next day all the "fellows" will be gone^[2]

   ar tēvu sapratāmies kā čomi‎ ― me and my father got along (alternatively "were on the same page") like good friends ~ buddies^[3]
